RUNNING WITH THE BULLS 2024

Sunday - August 11th

We are gearing up for the 22nd Annual Running with the Bulls 5K/10K and Kids 1K at the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, Alaska!

​

This fundraiser for the Musk Ox Farm provides participants with an OX-tacular run through and around the pastures at the Musk Ox Farm. (Not actually WITH the bulls - that would be nuts!) Runners get a perspective of the farm that many people never get to see as the course winds around and through the gorgeous pastures and hills of our 75 acre property.

 

It is one of the most scenic and unique events in the state! And of course, the musk oxen are watching the event from adjoining pastures.  All participants receive a commemorative race t-shirt!

COURSE DETAILS

  • The course takes you through our pastures and perimeter of our 75 acre property.

  • No part of the course is paved at any point, it is over mowed pastureland throughout the entire race. There will be sections of uneven footing and hills.  

  • A large portion of the course is not shaded, so don't forget the sunscreen!

  • Water is not provided on the course, so please plan to bring your own. There will be water for filling bottles/camelbaks before and after the race.

  • You will be rewarded with amazing views of the Chugach & Talkeetna mountains, and musk oxen of course! The course takes you to parts of the property not usually open to the public.

OTHER DETAILS

  • VIRTUAL RUNNERS: Register at least 3 weeks in advance to have your shirt by race day.  

  • BIB PICKUP TIMES:​

    • Saturday, 8/10 - 11am to 5pm

    • Sunday, 8/11 - beginning at 9:30am

  • PLEASE BRING WATER - there will be no water available along the course.

  • Light snacks will be provided.

  • Parking will be limited, so please carpool with friends! 

  • Strollers are welcome on the course. An all-terrain stroller is recommended, and it will definitely add to the challenge!

  • No stopping to view the animals along the course will be permitted, no petting or touching musk oxen is allowed at any time. 

  • Restroom options will include outdoor washrooms and indoor facilities.
