Join us for a presentation about the prehistory of musk oxen with Dr. Pam Groves, PhD of the Institute of Arctic Biology, University of Alaska, Fairbanks! 📸Dr. Groves holding the skull of a musk ox that dates back over 30,000 years found in northern Alaska!

About the Event
Dr. Groves has been involved with musk oxen since 1979 when she started working with the Musk Ox Farm herd while in Unalakleet, and helped establish the current farm in Palmer. Pam earned earned her PhD in Wildlife Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks comparing musk oxen with a distant relative in China, the takin! She has also been on the board of The Musk Ox Farm (MODC) since 1987, taking on the role of Board President in 2010.
We're thrilled to have Pam's oxpertise on the natural history of musk oxen and give us all a glimpse into the their prehistoric roots!Â
