About the Event

Join Ruth Hirsiger of Musk Ox Creations in the beautiful Musk Ox Farm loft for this ox-some opportunity to learn a new technique and make a lovely hat or set of cozy leg gaiters!

Ruth specially created these two patterns for the Musk Ox Farm to introduce knitters to the Fair Isle style of knitting. So, if you feel Fair Isle has been out-of-reach, this workshop was custom designed just for you!

Who is it for?

Anyone who wants to learn Fair Isle color work techniques!

Class size is limited to 15 participants.

What’s included?

You will learn a little about the history of Fair Isle technique, get practical tips and tricks from an expert knitter, and have time to work on your knitting project!

Registration includes your choice of either our Cozy Leg Gaiters Kit OR our Fair Isle Hat Kit! (You will make your choice on the registration page.)

Kits include the Musk Ox Farm 50% Qiviut/50% Merino Wool Beginner Blend yarn and the pattern for your chosen project!

You can purchase an extra fair isle knitting kit for a 15% discount when registering. So after mastering your first project, you can make a matching hat and gaiters set or make one for a friend or family member later!

A note from Ruth……

Knitting Fair Isle IS EASY! It only looks difficult! Yes, it’s true, much like anything else, somebody either loves it or doesn’t. But if you are intrigued by colorful patterns and designs, I hope you gather your courage and give this great opportunity a try. If you don’t try you’ll never know - and you might be in for a surprise :)

In this work shop we are shooting for success and plan to finish the project.

I was introduced to fair isle at a young age in Scandinavia, on Iceland, and the Faroer Islands. I never lost my passion and joy to create colorful patterns and look forward to sharing this with you. Come join the FUN!
